4. Trace McSorley is a proven winner

The Nittany Lions signal caller is one of the more underrated quarterbacks in the country. Trace McSorley is not as flashy as other passers, but he gets the job done and knows how to lead his team a to victories.

McSorley threw for about 400 yards less this season than in 2016, but he was more accurate. He completed 65 percent of his passes this season compared to 58 percent a year ago. McSorley led the Big Ten in passing, throwing for 269 yards per game. He threw for over 3,200 yards and 26 touchdowns. Adding 11 more scores on the ground and McSorley is one of the most dynamic players in the country. The 37 total touchdowns is a school record and he has tossed at least one score in 27 straight games.

One of the Nittany Lions weaknesses is their offensive line and McSorley found himself under duress in many games this season. However he never panics or looks flustered in the pocket. He constantly will find ways to will his team down the field.

With Penn State’s offense, it is pick your poison. If defenses sell out to stop running back Saquon Barkley, and many chose that option this season, McSorley will burn opposing secondaries. He is a dangerous weapon with his arm and legs. Look for him to to be a huge factor against Washington.
