NC State had a shot at a conference crown this season but wasn’t able to withstand the rigor of the ACC. Arizona State was never in contention, but they did pull off a stunner when they knocked Washington from the ranks of the unbeaten and put a damper on the Huskies’ playoff chances.

The Wolfpack took an early lead an ran with it, never trailing in an impressive Sun Bowl victory over Arizona State. That caps off a tremendous season from the Wolfpack, their first with nine or more wins since 2010. Here are three takeaways from the game.

1. Ryan Finley posts near-perfect performance

North Carolina State quarterback Ryan Finley found the endzone just one, but the Wolfpack couldn’t have asked for much better from their leader under center. Finley completed 24 of 29 passes for 318 yards with that lone score.

Finley’s 82.8 completion percentage will be one of the best showing by any passer this postseason, and that includes those big names projected to be selections in the upcoming NFL Draft.
