It didn’t bother Drew Lock that Texas coach Tom Herman mocked his touchdown dance as the Longhorns sealed a win over Missouri in the Texas Bowl.

As Texas players celebrated a 33-16 victory over the Tigers, Herman and others were caught copying Lock’s dance. The Mizzou quarterback saw both sides to the move by Herman.

“You can look at it like this is a pretty big program, and when the head coach is mocking your dance move, you must be doing something right,” Lock told reporters. “You’re not a nobody. You’re definitely doing something that is catching people’s attention.

“There’s both sides of that. If you’re going to do that, you’re being a players’ coach, really,” he said. “If I was on the team, I would have (dug) it. … ‘Coach is balling with us, he’s out here having fun.’

“But at the same time, you know, you’ve got to realize how the other side is going to take it.”

Lock, who set a single-season SEC record for touchdown passes, was able to show off his “secure the bag” dance after a 79-yard touchdown on the first play of the second half for Missouri.

The rest of the game, though, was a struggle for talented junior. He finished 18-for-34 for 269 yards and an interception.

Despite that, it was a stellar season for Lock, who threw 44 touchdowns against 13 interceptions. He completed 242 of 419 for 3,964 yards, averaging over nine yards per attempt.

Missouri finished the season 7-6 overall after starting 1-5. The Tigers reeled off six consecutive wins, scoring over 45 points in all six games, before the loss to Texas.
