In the final game before Jimbo Fisher officially takes over, Texas A&M football and Wake Forest had an offensive shoot out. Here are three takeaways from the Belk Bowl.

The Aggies fell to Wake Forest in an absolute shootout, 55-52. In the last game before Jimbo Fisher takes over the program, the Aggies showed quite a bit of heart and fight even though they didn’t win. This team is full of underclassmen and proved that they are ready for the 2018 season.

In a game that featured over 1,300 yards of offense and over 100 points both offenses were on full display. Here are our takeaways from the game.

3. Both teams had some serious struggles on defense on Friday afternoon.

This is pretty easy to say. Neither team was strong on defense. When you allow over 1,300 yards of offense and 100 points between the two teams, neither team has much to say defensively. However, both teams had their strong moments that is for sure.

For Wake Forest, it was the last play of the game. While it will be argued whether Jhamon Ausbon was interfered with on the second down play, it is neither here nor there. The Demon Deacon defense stood tall enough to secure a victory.

For Texas A&M, Landis Durham deserves big kudos for the fight he showed. The junior will be a big part of the defense next season assuming he returns for a senior campaign.
