1. The young guns showed Jimbo Fisher what they’re made of

Offensively, we saw a lot of Christian Kirk and a lot of Keith Ford for the Aggies. However, not enough will be said about the fight that Nick Starkel, Camron Buckley, Jhamon Ausbon and company showed in this match up with Wake Forest.

This team was down big after a fast start and it would have been easy for the offense to simply give up, to stop trying. That wasn’t in the cards for these kids though. Nick Starkel, in my opinion, cemented himself as the 2018 starting quarterback. Jhamon Ausbon and Cameron Buckley proved themselves to be first team ready.

Christian Kirk likely played his last game in maroon and white and if so, what a way to go out. He fought tooth and nail, finishing with three touchdowns on the day. His draft grade will likely be through the roof and if anyone is to extend the Aggies first round draft streak it will be Kirk.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Aggies saw guys like Charles Oliver, Anthony Hines and Landis Durham make big plays. If this was an audition for Jimbo Fisher and the new defensive coordinator, that group made a pretty decent impression.
