The Alabama dynasty has to end at some point, right? Why can’t it be Kirby Smart‘s Georgia Bulldogs that take the crown of SEC heavyweight. Before Georgia has the opportunity to make their bid for a national championship they have to take care of Oklahoma in the College Football Playoff semifinal.
Oklahoma earned their signature win early on in the season, taking down Ohio State on the road. That game is most remembered for Baker Mayfield’s flag plant at midfield and the controversy that began his 2017 Heisman Trophy campaign. Oklahoma would go on to win the Big 12 Championship Game over TCU, their second win over the Horned Frogs this season. Oklahoma climbed as high as No. 3 before ascending to the No. 2 spot in the final College Football Playoff rankings.
Georgia, after falling to Auburn in their first matchup of the season, got their revenge in the SEC Championship Game. The Bulldogs looked every bit the contender, and they’re just getting started. Georgia spent an extended time as the No. 1 team in the nation this season before sliding to No. 3 entering the Playoff. The Sooners will put up a fight, but the Bulldogs will win this game with ease. Here are five reasons Georgia beats Oklahoma at the Rose Bowl.
