Wisconsin football got its 13th win with a big-time Orange Bowl victory over Miami. Here are three quick takeaways from the game.

This game was the one that everyone has been waiting for, outside of the playoff. The two teams that sit as runner ups in their respective conferences faced off in the Orange Bowl. It was a battle of defenses and a battle of strength against speed. At the end of the day, it was Wisconsin and the Badgers defense that won out on Saturday night.

Here are our takeaways from the match up.

3. Home field advantage didn’t do much for the Canes

This game was played in the home stadium of the Miami Hurricanes. While their fans showed up and showed out, their undefeated home record didn’t survive the game. Many thought that the Hurricanes would show up and own this game from the first snap. At the start, it seemed like that would be a thing. However, that isn’t what happened.

After a 14-3 lead for Miami at the end of the first quarter. The Badgers outscored Miami 31-10 the rest of the way bringing them an Orange Bowl win and a school record 13 wins. The best part? This time has quite a long way to go in terms of talent in years to come.
