4. Kevin Sumlin (Former Texas A&M HC)

If you’re Kevin Sumlin, you’re just looking for that next opportunity at a Power Five program, no matter how prestigious it is. Arizona isn’t exactly the class of the Pac-12 on the football field, but the Wildcats have plenty of talent left over from Rich Rodriguez and that’s something Sumlin could work with.

The former Texas A&M head coach was canned after a 7-5 season and the Aggies clearly had their minds set on hiring Jimbo Fisher to replace him before he was even out the door.

Sumlin isn’t a bad coach, by any means, and he could have a good run in Tucson with a team not necessarily expecting 10 wins right away. He won between 7-9 games every season outside of his first year when he led the Aggies to 11-2. That one season did his entire Aggie career in as he set the bar too high too early on.

Arizona could use a young coach who relates well to his players and Sumlin is just that at 53 years old and a guy who college kids love to play for. The Pac-12 wouldn’t be a bad place for Sumlin.
