NFL Mock Draft 2018: Complete first round post-bowl season
By Dana Becker
Remember when the Bears decided Mitch Trubisky was the right choice over Deshaun Watson? Maybe Chicago does the same this year with another skill position.
Most view Calvin Ridley from Alabama as the top receiver prospect in the draft. But SMU’s Courtland Sutton has big-play potential, too.
Sutton caught 68 passes this past season for 1,085 yards and 12 touchdowns. As a sophomore, he hauled in 76 balls for 1,246 yards and 10 scores after a freshman season that saw him catch 49 passes for 862 yards and nine touchdowns.
While Ridley comes from more of an NFL-style offense than Sutton, the two are closer than you might think.
The addition of Sutton would give Trubisky a No. 1 receiver to target week in and week out.
