The 2017-2018 College Football Playoff National Championship Game is behind us. Here are 5 thoughts on the end of the season and a quick look ahead at 2018.

The 2017-2018 College Football season is officially over, we can all take a deep breath and let the tide roll over us as Alabama has won the 2017-2018 College Football Playoff National Championship Game. This victory marks Alabama’s fifth title under head football coach Nick Saban since they won their first in the Saban era back in 2009.

The National Championship Game was an instant classic going to overtime and ending on a 41 yard touchdown pass from one freshman to another. The Crimson Tide will be the favorite heading into 2018-2019 and are accumulating another top ten recruiting class.

This week’s edition of the 5th quarter focuses not only on the big game, but also a look ahead to the spring and summer of 2018 and all the way into the 2019 College Football Playoff. We will revisit the five narratives heading into the game and how they panned out.
