6. Army 14, Navy 13 | December 9

The Army-Navy game is an American tradition that is unlike any other in our great country. Seeing the two military academies enemies for a 60-minute game, only to become allies once the final whistle blows. Watching these two teams is play is almost like traveling in a time machine back to the late 60’s or early 70’s and watching true power, option football. In the 118th meeting between these two academies, this game was one that many won’t forget for a long time.

Both teams came into the game with bowl bids all but locked up so there wasn’t any panic from either side to win this game. But, with Army-Navy, there is always the urge to have bragging rights over the other side for the next 365 days.

The Black Knights struck first with a three-yard touchdown run by fullback Darnell Woolfolk. Navy would then answer with a field goal and a 68-yard touchdown run by quarterback Malcolm Perry, who rushed for 250 yards on the day, impressive especially in the whiteout conditions at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.

The Black Knights were not going to quietly, as they mounted a drive that seemed more similar to a death march than to a game-winning drive as they went 65 yards in 13 plays as quarterback Ahmad Bradshaw scored a one-yard touchdown with five minutes to go. Navy was able to put themselves in position to kick the game-winning field goal, but the conditions would not allow for it as Midshipmen kicker Bennet Moehring missed the kick wide left:

The win gave Army the Commander-In-Chief trophy for the first time since 1996, as the Black Knights had also beaten Air Force a month prior to the Navy game.
