The 2017 season is in the books so now it’s time to look ahead to 2018. Here are the way-too-early game-by-game predictions for Texas A&M.

Changes have hit the Texas A&M football program this offseason and it all started with the firing of Kevin Sumlin. After failing to get back to the 10-win mark since his first season in College Station, the Aggies felt it was time to move on from the coach.

While that left the Aggies with no coach and plenty of questions, it wasn’t long before they hired Jimbo Fisher away from Florida State. In fact, that was seemingly a done deal before Sumlin was even done packing his bags and heading out of town.

With all the changes comes new expectations for the program. The athletic department has shelled out the money to conjure up success. Will Fisher bring that success in his first year on campus?

Here are the way-too-early game-by-game predictions for Texas A&M’s schedule in 2018.

Could there be any more of a layup game to start Jimbo Fisher’s tenure? Probably not, but that’s not a bad thing for the new head coach. This can act as a second spring scrimmage as he gets to know his team and its strengths and weaknesses even more before a tough three-week stretch approaching.

Northwestern State finished 4-7 a season ago and had just one game against a FBS school in Louisiana Tech and didn’t fare too well. The same will happen this time around as Texas A&M will be led by Nick Starkel and an improved offense.

The Aggies won’t have much trouble in this one and a shutout may just happen in Mike Elko’s first game. He will get close to leading his defense to a flawless game, but Northwestern State will score in the final couple minutes of the game to erase the goose egg.

Final Score: Northwestern State 7, Texas A&M 52 (1-0)
