Sure, Shea Patterson is gone, but that doesn’t mean the Rebels are going to be any easier to stop through the air. Many people jumped on the Jordan Ta’amu hype train this past season after Patterson suffered his season-ending injury and that’s one of the reasons he decided to transfer to Michigan, presumably.

The junior quarterback passed for over 1,600 yards and 11 touchdowns while completing 67 percent of his passes and was a problem for opposing defenses. He also has the ability to scramble and run when the pocket collapses and he added four rushing scores in 2017.

Ta’amu has breakout receiver A.J. Brown returning, but that might not be enough as he’s losing his top running back, Jordan Wilkins, from the 2017 squad. That won’t stop Ta’amu from dominating through the air with over 350 passing yards and four scores.

Arkansas will be able to have a strong game offensively as well. Cole Kelley will pass for over 300 yards and Devwah Whaley will rush for over 100. This will be an old-fashioned shootout but even though the Rebels won’t be eligible for postseason play, they’ll have enough motivation to beat Arkansas.

Final Score: Ole Miss 44, Arkansas 41 (3-4, 0-4 SEC)
