Iowa State Football: Cyclones extend offer to Arizona Gatorade Player of the Year, Brock Purdy
Iowa State football coach, Matt Campbell has extended an offer to Arizona Gatorade Player of the Year, Brock Purdy. He’d be a huge get for the Cyclones.
The Cyclones put themselves back on the map with a pair of massive victories during the 2017 season. They defeated a pair of top 10 teams, Oklahoma and TCU, on their way to an 8-5 finish. If they’re going to maitain their relevance they’ll need reinforcements in the quarterback room.
The Cyclones only have three quarterbacks on their roster not including Kyle Kempt’s possible sixth-year making quarterback depth an issue. Iowa State head coach Matt Campbell is hoping he might have found the heir apparent among the 2018 recruiting class.
Campbell has extended an offer to 2018 graduate Brock Purdy from Arizona. Purdy reported the offer from Iowa State via Twitter:

According to 247 Spors database, Purdy holds offers from UCF and Boise State. However, Alabama just jumped into the mix offering him Tuesday night. The national champs could be facing some quarterback issues of their own and will make the race for Purdy very interesting.
Iowa State will make a big push for Brock Purdy before National Signing Day. Purdy put up video game numbers his senior year throwing for 4,405 yards and 57 touchdowns. The dual-threat quarterback also terrorized defenses on the ground rushing for 1,017 yards and nine touchdowns.

Purdy will be a huge priority for the Cyclone coaching staff heading into signing day. The potential to sign the Arizona Gatorade Player of the Year shows how far Iowa State has come. Cyclone fans should keep a watchful eye on how the recruitment of Purdy develops. Hopefully Campbell and his staff can end the 2018 class with a bang by locking up a special player in Brock Purdy.
