Penn State Football: Way too early game-by-game predictions for 2018
By Shane Lunnen
After a bye week, the Nittany Lions welcome Michigan State to town for their homecoming match-up. The Spartans beat the Lions last season 27-24 in a four hour rain delayed game. The loss effectively ended any chance for Penn State to get back into playoff contention, so they will be looking for revenge in this one.

It was a great bounce back year for Mark Dantonio and his Spartans. Going from 3-9 to 10-3 and a domination of Washington State in the Holiday Bowl. Now Dantonio will be looking to lead the Spartans back to Indianapolis. Quarterback Brian Lewerke will be back along with running back LJ Scott to lead the Spartans on offense. The Spartans finished 7th in overall total defense and most of the 2017 unit is returning and should be outstanding again.
Penn State will be looking to erase the sting of a the Ohio State loss and with two weeks to prepare, will come out on fire. Trace McSorley has another 300 yard game and scores four total touchdowns, three coming on the ground. Lewerke and Scott will add two scores each to keep pace, but in the end McSorley marches the Lions down for a game winning field goal. At the midway point, the Lions are still in the Big Ten race.
