Stanford Football: Top 5 remaining 2018 recruiting targets
Tae Le is one of two committed recruits that has yet to sign his name on the dotted line. Formerly a Yale commit, Le flipped to the Cardinal this past December. The Newport Beach, CA native does not look to be a risk to be headed elsewhere at this point, but there is still a lot up in the air following the inaugural Early Signing Period. Le had the opportunity to sign then, but elected to keep his recruitment open.
Coach David Shaw knows that nothing is certain when it comes to recruiting. Le currently holds offers from Cal, UCLA and USC as well as a host of Ivy League schools – Yale, Columbia, Princeton and Harvard.
A 3-star tight end, Le will bolster a position of strength for the Cardinal once he gets to campus.
Jacob Mangum-Farrar is the other Cardinal commit that has yet to make his verbal pledge official, but all recent reports indicate that he’s unlikely to go elsewhere. This is one more case of coach Shaw doing his due diligence and securing the signature of the Sugar Land, TX native.
Mangum-Farrar is a 3-star outside linebacker who had originally entertained an offer from Houston before committing to Stanford in August. He also took unofficial visits to Oklahoma, Cal and picked up offers from all across the country. Mangum-Farrar was offered as far east as Vanderbilt as far north as Northwestern and as far south as Houston and Texas State. He too should be expected to sign with the Cardinal come National Signing Day.
These next three recruits are not committed to Stanford and will require a bit more work to earn their commitments.
