The Cardinal linebacking corps took a big hit this season. All four starting linebackers are out of eligibility as well as key rotation piece Kevin Palma. That leaves plenty of opportunities for young players to step up and fill the gap, but the Cardinal need to lock down at least a few linebackers in the 2018 class. That’s where Caleb Kelly comes in.

A 3-star outside linebacker from Atlanta, GA, Kelly has offers from several prominent programs. He has an offer from in-state Georgia as well as Michigan State, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Cal and Stanford.

The latest 247 Sports Crystal Ball projections had him as a Vanderbilt lean. While that is closer to home for Kelly, he hasn’t even taken an official visit yet. He has been to Stanford as well as Cal and Ole Miss. The visit to the Cardinal came in late September while Cal and Ole Miss have both gotten visits since the start of the New Year.

Kelly named Stanford one of his final three, including Cal and Ole Miss. With visits from each of the three finalists coaches schedule in the coming days an announcement is expected from Kelly before National Signing Day.
