2. Kirby Smart and Georgia

Kirby Smart earned this number two spot this season. With a true freshman quarterback, he took his team to an SEC championship and the national title game. He has been the Georgia head coach for two years, in which he went 8-5 and 13-2. Not too shabby for your first head coaching gig ever if I do say so myself.

As shown below, he is a very involved and excitable head coach. He is consistently involved in what is happening on the field and pushing his team to do better and better each play, each game. That is what you want in a head coach. He has earned the respect of his team and the fan base because of his no excuses style and the results he puts on the field.

Of course, this team will be without Sony Michel and Nick Chubb in 2018. However, D’Andre Swift is gunning to put out the same level of productivity in the season to come. He surely has the talent and behind a coach like Kirby Smart, this team is the one to beat in the SEC East. His spot as the number two coach in the SEC is unmatched as it stands now, though 2018 could bring a shake up no one sees coming as a result of numerous coaching changes.
