SEC Football: Power ranking every coach in the SEC
By Shelbie Warr
1. Nick Saban and Alabama
I know, surprise, surprise right? Well, when you have as many rings as this guy has you sit steady at the top spot until someone knocks you off. It doesn’t look like anyone will be knocking of Saban anytime soon either. Why is he the best coach in the SEC? Because of speeches like the one shown below. His team just won a national title and he is discussing the 2018 season. That is insane to me, but it is why his team is so successful year in and year out.
Many balked at his decision to take Jalen Hurts out of the national title game and replace him with true freshman Tua Tagovailoa. However, that true freshman lead the Tide to a comeback and a national title. That is good coaching. That is preparing every player on your team for every possible situation.

Nick Saban, in his career as a head coach, has had one losing season in his career where he coached the season from start to finish. That was with the Miami Dolphins in 2006. In 2007, he finished his first season at Alabama 7-6, but those wins were vacated due to NCAA infractions. Since then, he has been dominant. That doesn’t look to be changing anytime soon either.
