Iowa State football had an impressive 2017 season but could be even better in 2018 if these five recruiting class signees have instant impacts.

Matt Campbell and Iowa State look to keep momentum going through 2018 National Signing Day. There are plenty of early signees who could have an instant impact for the Cyclones in 2018.

Iowa State is coming off an 8-5 record capped off by a Liberty Bowl victory over then ranked Memphis. Campbell’s “process” never stops and recruiting is the staple of each college football program. Heading into the second signing day the Cyclones have five early enrollees, 13 players already signed and two current commitments.

Matt Campbell is notorious for telling recruits if they are ready and good enough, they will play. This past season, Iowa State had four true freshmen play and all will look to make an impact this coming season.

With Campbell’s philosophy on incoming freshman, who should fans expect to play as true freshmen? Here are five guys you could see on the field this coming season as first-year contributors.
