With only seven days remaining until 2018 National Signing Day, Notre Dame football has limited time to cap off their recruiting class.

Notre Dame football is putting together one of its best recruiting classes, under head coach Brian Kelly, for 2018. With 22 total commitments for the Irish so far, they rank as the ninth best class in the nation. Seven of those 22 recruits are already enrolled at the university.

Moreover, another 14 of those 22 commits have already signed their Letter of Intent. There’s only one commit that is still needs to sign. With one week still left before National Signing Day 2018, Notre Dame is in fantastic position to end up with a top 10 class when it’s all said and done.

Of the 22 commits locked up for the Irish, 11 are four-star recruits. Notre Dame is yet to end up with a five-star recruit in this class, but Kelly still has time to nab one before the conclusion of the National Signing Day festivities.

With the ranking that the 2018 Irish recruiting class carries at this moment, they actually rank one spot ahead of where the 2017 class finished. Few players from the 2017 class got a chance to make their mark during the actual 2017 college football season. But, a few did get a chance to show why they deserve a chance to start in 2018.

For example, former three-star safety signee Isaiah Robertson got some playing time at the free safety spot during his freshman campaign. Since current starting free safety Nick Coleman runs out of eligibility after the 2018 season, Robertson has a clear path to making a difference with the Notre Dame defense.

That’s just one instance where Kelly’s strong 2017 class signifies a bright future for Notre Dame football. Here’s a look at five Notre Dame Fighting Irish commits who will make an instant impact in 2018.
