This could wind up being one of the more interesting National Signing Day stories. Nicholas Petit-Frere seems bound for the SEC as Florida and Alabama are near the top of his list, but people seem to forget he’s also high on Michigan, Notre Dame and Ohio State.

It’ll all come down to what the five-star offensive tackle from Tampa, Fla., really wants. Does he want to stay close to home in the warm weather or does he want to hit the Midwest and play for some perennial contenders with grind-it-out mentalities.

You can’t go wrong with any of those schools, really. Alabama is a national title contender each season, Florida could be on the rise with Dan Mullen, Notre Dame is always going to be in the spotlight, Michigan is a likely 10-win team and Ohio State contends for Big Ten titles and the playoff each year.

Petit-Frere is one of the hottest names left on the market and it seems like Florida has a slight lead over the pack. He’s ranked the No. 7 overall player in the country and the nation’s top offensive tackle prospect.

The 6-foot-6, 272-pound tackle will have an instant impact wherever he chooses to go.
