If Ole Miss football can pull together a few more valuable prospects before National Signing Day concludes, they could manage a top 8 SEC class for 2018.
Ole Miss football is putting together an impressive recruiting class, considering all the challenges facing now full-time head coach Matt Luke. All the punishments surrounding the Rebels right now makes it difficult for Luke to tap into all his resources possible to bring in top-notch prospects.
As of now, Ole Miss holds the No. 33 ranked class in the nation, and the ninth best in the SEC. Ole Miss has 18 commits total, 14 of which have signed their Letter of Intent. The other four commits are listed as “hard commits” at this moment. The Rebels look to lock them up by the time that 2018 National Signing Day comes around on Feb. 7.
With just days left before National Signing Day, time is running out for the Rebels to pull together a few more signees. Of the 18 commits for the Rebels, two are four-star prospects. Moreover, four of Ole Miss’s commits are JUCO transfers. That should help Luke get some players that can come in and make an immediate impact.
Four-star pro-style quarterback Matt Corral is the highest-rated signee for the Rebels. Corral is the No. 63 ranked player in the nation, and the fourth best pro-style quarterback in the nation. With rising junior quarterback Shea Patterson transferring to join the Michigan Wolverines, Corral’s signing is a huge get for the Rebels.
There’s still some four-star prospects on Ole Miss’s radar. The final push to get their commitment to play in Oxford for the next four or five years is important to the Rebels’ future success in the SEC West, especially after the sanctions are lifted.
Here are the top five remaining targets for the Ole Miss Rebels for National Signing Day 2018.
