With 2018 National Signing Day approaching, who are the top five remaining recruiting targets for LSU football and Ed Orgeron?

Believe it or not, Ed Orgeron just had his best season as a head coach with LSU in 2017. The Tigers went 9-4 under his watch and before 2017, the most games the head coach had ever won in a single season was six — with USC in 2013 and LSU in 2016.

The Tigers are trending in the right direction, but sometimes get lost in the shuffle when talking about contenders from the SEC. Orgeron has a chance to make a splash on National Signing Day with a handful of top recruits considering the Tigers.

Who are LSU’s top five remaining 2018 recruiting targets for National Signing Day.

Local kids aren’t always locks. A perfect example of that is three-star tight end Glenn Beal from New Orleans, La. Although he’s close to Baton Rouge, that doesn’t mean he’s destined to be a Tiger. In fact, he’s strongly considering Texas A&M, too.

There are a number of teams in Beal’s list of potential suitors, including the Aggies, Alabama, Ole Miss and Tennessee. Unfortunately, the Tigers didn’t get an official visit from the tight end, so that might be the nail in the coffin. That doesn’t completely rule out Ed Orgeron and LSU, though.

Beal most recently visited Ole Miss and Alabama, but Texas A&M is the favorite to land the 6-foot-5, 265-pound tight end from New Orleans. He’s listed as the No. 413 overall player and the 16th-best tight end in the class, per 247Sports.
