With 2018 National Signing Day approaching, who are the top five remaining recruiting targets for Clemson football and Dabo Swinney?

Dabo Swinney has been an excellent recruiter over his tenure with the Clemson Tigers and that continues to be true in the 2018 class. He’s gearing up for yet another eventful National Signing Day as there are a number of top targets still considering the Tigers.

Although Clemson didn’t win the national title in 2017, repeating its 2016 feat, the Tigers did make it back to the College Football Playoff and that has to be a big selling point with recruits. There’s a good chance they will make it back in 2018 as well.

Who are Clemson’s top five remaining 2018 National Signing Day targets?

Clemson already has a fairly impressive recruiting class at the linebacker position, but the Tigers don’t have an inside backer just yet. They have two four-star outside linebackers, one signed and one enrolled, but a player like Dax Hollifield could be the future on the inside.

The North Carolina-native is considering his home-state school, the Tar Heels, but he also has his eye on Clemson, Virginia Tech and Stanford. Either he’s staying in the ACC or he’s headed to the West Coast to get a premier education while playing for David Shaw. Can’t go wrong either way.

The 6-foot-2, 236-pound linebacker is a heck of a talent and he already has the necessary size to be a force at the collegiate level. He’s listed as the No. 67 prospect in the class and the fifth-best inside linebacker, according to 247Sports.

Right now, it looks like Virginia Tech may be the favorite to land him, but don’t count out the Tigers, Tar Heels or Cardinal.
