With 2018 National Signing Day approaching, who are the top five remaining recruiting targets for Nebraska football and Scott Frost?
The Scott Frost era has official begun in Lincoln. The Nebraska Cornhuskers are now led by the former quarterback who got his big break as the UCF Knights’ head coach and he led them to an undefeated “national championship” season in 2017.
Frost then accepted the job with Nebraska in a “return home” of sorts. He could get his tenure off to a hot start with a solid finish on National Signing Day to return the Cornhuskers back to the national spotlight. He has more work to do, though.
Who are Nebraska’s top five remaining 2018 recruiting targets for National Signing Day?
The defensive tackle position is a major need for Nebraska in 2018. The Cornhuskers don’t have a defensive tackle committed, signed or enrolled in their 2018 class and three-star Otito Ogbonnia not only has one of the best names out there, but he could provide the necessary punch to Nebraska’s class.
Ogbonnia stands 6-foot-3 and weighs about 300 pounds out of Katy, Texas, and he can clog up some holes. Not many players have that kind of size in the high school ranks but Ogbonnia has college-ready size.
The three-star is ranked the No. 603 player in the class and the 38th-best defensive tackle, per 247Sports. The Cornhuskers will be fighting it out for him with Tennessee, Texas Tech and UCLA.
