What an interesting story four-star offensive tackle Jarrett Patterson is. For the longest time, he looked like a heavy lean to UCLA and Michigan was also up near the top of his list. Rumor has it he even had the Wolverines pulling slightly ahead of the Bruins recently, but that notion has since gone out the window — along with his interest in Michigan.

Why the sudden disinterest in Michigan? Well, Notre Dame offered on Jan. 9 and got an official visit from Patterson just 10 days later and he declared he was down to UCLA and Notre Dame shortly after that. Auburn came in with the latest of late offers, extending one to Patterson on Jan. 26 but that won’t affect his decision.

Notre Dame essentially stole the show when it looked like Michigan was gaining steam and that has to make Jim Harbaugh’s blood boil as he desperately needs help on his offensive line. Brian Kelly is a great recruiter, though, and this is proof of that.
