Texas Football: Top 5 remaining targets for 2018 National Signing Day
With 2018 National Signing Day approaching, who are the top five remaining recruiting targets for Texas football and Tom Herman?
Tom Herman hasn’t messed around with his first full recruiting class since taking over for Charlie Strong in Austin. He’s already locked up the best class in the state of Texas and he’s aiming to add a few more elite recruits before National Signing Day comes to a close.
Texas signed 19 players during the Early Signing Period. They’ve secured five additional commitments since then. There’s a limited amount of space, but the Longhorns aren’t going to wrap things up before they’ve had one more chance at some of the top players that are still unsigned.
Who are the Texas Longhorns’ top five remaining National Signing Day targets?
The Longhorns are looking to add one more piece to a promising flight of young wide receivers. They got a big lift from the commitment of 4-star receiver Joshua Moore just days before National Signing Day. The Yoakum, Texas star had previously committed to Nebraska before reopening his recruitment after the Huskers’ coaching change.
Moore was the fourth receiver in the 2018 class, Tommy Bush would be the fifth. A 3-star recruit from Samuel Clemens in Schertz, Texas, Bush has a rather impressive list of offers including Alabama, Tennessee, Miami, Florida State, Auburn, Notre Dame, Oklahoma and Texas A&M. Standing at 6-foot-5 and weighing 191 pounds, his size will make him a red zone mismatch for his opponents.
Texas will have to fight off Ole Miss and Baylor to earn the commitment of Bush. This one could go either way.
