Clemson football landed one of the top receivers in the entire 2018 class on Wednesday but could he be the next great wide out for the Tigers?

Mike Williams, Sammy Watkins, Martavis Bryant and DeAndre Hopkins. All four of those top wide receivers in the NFL have one thing in common — they all excelled at Clemson. The Tigers have been putting receivers in the league at a high rate over the past decade and Deon Cain will be the next in the 2018 NFL Draft.

On Wednesday afternoon, Clemson landed one of the top wide receivers in the 2018 class in four-star Justyn Ross from Alabama.

Not only was it a major victory to land Ross out of the state of Alabama, over the Crimson Tide, but it also gives Dabo Swinney another future No. 1 target.

The Phenix City, Ala., native stands 6-foot-4 and 201 pounds and has the skill set of an elite target at the collegiate level. He possesses strong hands and a big frame that can cause problems in the SEC. He’s about the same size as Bryant and Williams and that’s good news for Clemson fans.

Just because Ross is the same size as two Clemson greats before him doesn’t mean he’s guaranteed to be a star, but when you watch his film, it becomes more obvious.

Ross is listed as the No. 45 overall player in the class, seventh-best receiver and top Alabama prospect, according to 247Sports. There’s a reason he held nearly two dozen offers and that’s because he has star potential.
