The prized get for the top programs in the nation at the offensive tackle spot is four-star Florida native Nicholas Petit-Frere. The Alabama Crimson Tide, Michigan Wolverines, Florida Gators, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Fighting Irish are all in a tight race to land Petit-Frere on NSD.

At this moment, Ohio State does look like the overall top dog in that race for Petit-Frere, but nothing is guaranteed there. All these programs have a ton to offer and could cause an uncommitted prospect to jump around in his decision.

Notre Dame also has proven success in the offensive line development category. They just sent two projected first round picks to the 2018 NFL Draft, in Mike McGlinchey and Quenton Nelson. The track record of offensive line development is an intriguing edge for the Irish.

The thing that could turn Petit-Frere away from Notre Dame is the amount of offensive tackles already committed to the Irish. There’s three that play his same position either signed or committed. However, since Petit-Frere is the top ranked tackle in the nation, he’d hold a special spot on the team as an incoming freshmen.
