It’s been a good 2018 National Signing Day for USC football. The Trojans landed a couple of top prospects on Wednesday afternoon.

If you’re a USC fan, you had to be somewhat hesitant heading into National Signing Day. While the Trojans already had a handful of impressive 2018 signees, there were some big names left on the board that if USC missed out on would put a major damper on the class.

Clay Helton had just received an extension this week and that had to make some of the remaining targets feel good about the decision to commit to USC.

The day started with four-star linebacker Solomon Tuliaupupu committing to the Trojans. He becomes the second top-100 inside linebacker to choose the Trojans, following five-star Palaie Gaoteote. He’s the No. 54 overall recruit in the class and fourth-best inside linebacker, according to 247Sports.

Tuliaupupu was followed up by five-star cornerback Olaijah Griffin and  four-star wide receiver Devon Williams.

Griffin, the son of rapper Warren G, picked USC over Tennessee, Alabama and Auburn. He is the No. 28 prospect in the class and the third-best cornerback from Mission Viejo, Calif. He became the Trojans’ highest-rated defensive back.

Williams looked like an Oregon-lean, but fell in love with the Trojans and chose USC. The 6-foot-4, 200-pound receiver is the 40th-ranked player in the class as well as the sixth-best wide receiver, reigning from Lancaster, Calif.

The Trojans have been on fire during National Signing Day and they have finished with the sixth-best recruiting class in the nation as well as No. 1 in the Pac-12, according to 247Sports. Talk about finishing strong.
