Despite coaching turnover, Oregon football still landed a top-20 recruiting class on National Signing Day. How do the Ducks grade out on offense and defense?

National Signing Day turned out surprisingly well in Eugene. Despite losing head coach Willie Taggart to the Florida State job right in the middle of recruiting season, the Ducks still managed to haul in the No. 16 class in the country according to the 247sports team composite rankings for 2018.

New coach Mario Cristobal will have plenty of talent to work with after bringing in one of the Pac-12’s best recruiting classes on National Signing Day. The Ducks brought in players on both offense and defense to help fill holes throughout the roster. It was a comprehensive effort by the rebuilt coaching staff that was fortified by defensive coordinator Jim Leavitt remaining in Eugene.

With the fortifications to the roster this recruiting cycle, Oregon brought in some players that could have an immediate impact. The Ducks could legitimately be a dark-horse candidate in the Pac-12 North in 2018 and regain status as the top dog in the league.

The time has come to really assess where Oregon landed after the dust settled on National Signing Day. Let’s grade the recruiting efforts on both offense and defense before handing out a final grade for the Ducks.
