Texas A&M lost a long time commitment in quarterback Grant Gunnell earlier this month. Under Kevin Sumlin, Gunnell was quite excited to be an Aggie. However, with coaching changes and in turn culture changes, he has decided to step back and think more about his decision.

With the presence of Kellen Mond, Nick Starkel and Connor Blumrick on the roster in addition to 2018 signee James Foster, Gunnell would not be guaranteed much of anything in terms of a starting position. It would make sense that he would take a step back to truly think about his decision.

However, he is certainly still high on Texas A&M’s list of desired commitments by the end of the 2019 recruiting cycle.

The prostyle quarterback from Houston has the world of college football abuzz with excitement due to his talent. His de-commitment from Texas A&M was one that was met with quite a bit of happiness from fans of teams like Alabama, LSU and Texas. His college decision seems to be a big question mark at the moment, so keep an eye on him. Jimbo Fisher and company are sure to make a push for this young man down the stretch of this recruiting cycle.

If he doesn’t end up signing with the Aggies, it won’t be the worst thing. They have quite a few quarterbacks on roster that have the ability to carry this program. However, that won’t stop Fisher’s staff from continuing to attempt to convince Gunnell to stay in Aggieland.
