Last, but certainly not least, is four-star center Matthew Jones. The nation’s No. 1 center enrolled early with the goal of earning that starting spot, replacing Billy Price, which won’t be an easy task.

The battle for the starting center job will likely be between Jones and Brady Taylor, but if Urban Meyer believes that the former is ready after spring ball, the job could be all sewn up. Jones has to feel good about his chances to secure the job given the fact that center isn’t the most popular position on a roster which cuts the list of competitors significantly.

Jones has the size and the strength to eventually move over to one of the tackle spots, but coming in as the nation’s top center has to help his case to start there in year one.

Standing 6-foot-4 and 300 pounds, he’s unusually big for the center position, but he may be too good to keep off the field, especially if he keeps progressing as an early enrollee. His career may very well end with him playing tackle, but he could be Price’s replacement.
