No. 4 Running Back Trayveon Williams and No. 3 Quarterback Nick Starkel

Similar to Keke and Alaka, these two players will be extremely important on their side of the ball in 2018. Trayveon Williams, now a junior, will likely emerge as the starter for the running back position. He was the first true freshman in Texas A&M history to finish a season with over 1,000 rushing yards. Williams finished the 2017 season with just under 800 yards as he played second fiddle to the likes of Keith Ford.

He is by no means the only running back on the Aggie roster, but he is one of the most experienced. Whether he will be the starter or not he will for sure emerge as a leader on the team as a whole. As he has the most experience against SEC competition, he will be relied upon by Fisher and staff to help the younger guys prepare for their time at Texas A&M.

In addition to Williams, the most important player on the Aggie offense will be redshirt sophomore quarterback Nick Starkel. Before we talk about him in depth, I suggest you watch the attached video. This kid is everything you want in a player on your team and that much more. He is a leader that has his head screwed on right. In recent years of college football, that isn’t something that is easy to find.

Despite injury in 2017, Starkel is still the most complete quarterback currently on the Aggie roster. While they picked up James Foster within the 2018 recruiting class, a kid who has a strong arm and has been through quite a bit, it still seems to me that Starkel is the most logical option at starter for Texas A&M.

It is likely that Fisher will lean on his starting quarterback as they get the 2018 season underway. While Fisher isn’t obnoxiously familiar with the players currently on roster, Starkel is as this will be his third year in College Station. That will be a huge plus for the coming season as Fisher tries to get his feet under him.
