1. Brian Kelly says Jurkovec is best quarterback in country

When listening to Brian Kelly talk about Phil Jurkovec, it becomes apparent that he really thinks the world of this kid. He has talked about wanting the young incoming freshman to come in and push Brandon Wimbish right away. Whether that means Wimbush already has the upper hand in the battle between him, Book and Jurkovec remains to be seen, though.

Kelly absolutely gushes about this kid and he’s gone as far as saying he’s the best quarterback in the country and someone he could put up against anyone he’s ever seen.

If that isn’t the highest praise from a coach who doesn’t often rave about guys, I don’t know what is. If he already believes Jurkovec is the best quarterback in the class, or even the country, then there’s a good chance he could favor the young freshman when he steps foot on campus.

Jurkovec needs to build some confidence right away and it won’t be difficult if Kelly is praising him left and right instead of breaking him down.
