A turnaround season could be just around the corner for Arkansas football, and it starts with the work put in during Spring Practice.

Arkansas football has a few things to turnaround during Spring Practice before making a better push in the SEC West in 2018. In Bret Bielema’s last year as head coach in Fayetteville, the Razorbacks won just four games. And, some of those wins looked tough (i.e. the one-point victory over the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers).

Tons of injuries contributed to a rough 2017 campaign for Arkansas. Now, first-year head coach Chad Morris looks to instill a new culture for the Hogs. And, that new culture needs to produce a few more victories for Arkansas to at least get back into the realm of bowl eligibility. When it was all said and done, the Hogs were the only SEC West team that did not have at least six wins.

One date for Arkansas football fans to mark on their calendar is April 7, for the Red-White Game, at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock. Arkansas has a few questions to answer during that time. Moreover, the Hogs hope to find some sort of consistency on both sides of the ball.

It was a constant struggle for the Hogs to get any rhythm on offense or defense in 2017. The defense gave up too many points for the pace of play in the SEC now. Arkansas needs a player that saw the field a decent amount last year, quarterback Cole Kelley, to be the focal point on Spring Practice and the Spring Game.

Another easy non-conference slate (barring the TCU Horned Frogs last year) helps Arkansas get some momentum going before the 2018 SEC slate. Before then, Arkansas has some work to do in the coming months.
