An improved defense in 2018 can start with a more solid defensive line. The pass rush was not the strongest part of Arkansas football in 2017. Someone to turn to for Morris entering the upcoming season is rising junior defensive end McTelvin Agim.

As one of the more talented players along the Arkansas defense, Agim has a big role to step into this year. He’s been one of the more consistent producers for the Hogs, but he’s never made it past the 2.5 sack mark in a single season.

The pass rush is an extraordinarily crucial part of any SEC defense. Agim’s numbers for tackles for loss went up somewhat significantly from 2016 to 2017, even though the sacks did not. The overall development in the stat line is an encouraging sign for Agim.

There’s a few players that need to be good in order for Arkansas to be good this year. Agim is one of those players that falls under that category. Getting in the realm of four or five sacks this season would do wonders for the fortunes of the entirety of the Hogs defense.
