Arkansas Football: 5 most important players for 2018 season

If you look up TJ Hammonds on Google, the first article that pops up is an outline of how Bret Bielema’s misuse of him allowed the program to tank to the point that it has. The junior plays both running back and wide receiver, though he is a much better runner. While Bielema did not use Hammonds to his full potential, it is the hope that Morris and company will.
An argument can easily be made that the 2017 Razorback team would have won all of two games without Hammonds playing. They surely wouldn’t have escaped a one win Costal Carolina team without his two touchdowns. One of those touchdowns, an 88-yard scamper to the end zone is shown below.
This kid is fast. He is easily the most dynamic player on this Arkansas offense and as a result he should be what the unit is built around. Yes, quarterback Cole Kelley is important. He will be the signal caller and the leader of the team. However, Hammonds is the one who is going to get the ball in the end zone in 2018 with the most frequency.

Look for him to be the leading rusher for the Razorbacks in 2018 and a top back in the conference as well. Morris showed his ability to turn around SMU and he will look to do the same for the Razorbacks. That will start with guys like Hammonds.
