Losers

A rare 4-year starter at the college level, South Carolina’s Skai Moore entered the combine as a fringe late round prospect. The hesitations on him were largely driven by previous neck surgery that caused him to miss the 2016 season. He needed a great day to outpace those worries and he simply did not have it. His 4.73 second 40-yard dash was in the bottom third of linebackers, which won’t measure well against others being drafted to primarily play special teams.

Nose tackles aren’t expected to put up blistering numbers in the agility drills, but there’s a base level that’s generally assumed for guys that big. Virginia Tech’s Tim Settle was uninspiring in his workouts and did not flash during the on-field drills either. Rotoworld’s Thor Nystrom went as far as to call Settle “one of [Day 3’s] biggest disappointments.”

Everyone knew that LSU edge rusher Arden Key had the talent to be a first round pick, but there were some off the field concerns. He came out fired up during the drills at the combine, but seemed to be overcompensating for some of those questions. Key came off as aggressive, but undisciplined. A tweaked knee kept him from running the shuttle drills and the 40-yard dash.
