The 2018 NFL Combine is just wrapping up in Indianapolis, Indiana. Here are the major takeaways from the combine and how they affect the NFL Draft.

Once, when I was a teenager, I did an entire seven round mock draft all on my own for all thirty (it was 1997) NFL teams. That’s how I killed time in in-school suspension or study hall or both back in the eighth grade. I’ve been obsessed with the NFL Combine and NFL Draft since before I can remember.

When people ask me why I watch the draft or follow the combine I have no answer. It’s all “Because, football.”

The 2018 NFL Combine and subsequent draft will be filled with intrigue as there are five potential first round quarterbacks along with the dominant combine performances of Saquon Barkley, Mike Gesicki and Bradley Chubb. On top of that, there’s the 40 time of Shaquem Griffin, the weird world of Orlando Brown and whatever forces players to leave Miami early and then bomb the combine.

Every year players prove pundits right, prove them wrong, post first round numbers with third round tape, show why the combine exists in the first place, and prove why players schedule pro days after the combine as well. Here are the players that fit into those categories and how the combine either hurt or helped their stock as NFL prospects.
