2018 NFL Mock Draft: Complete first round post NFL Combine
Needs: OL, ILB, Edge
The Indianapolis Colts are trying to find their identity in a post-Peyton Manning and injured Andrew Luck landscape. The Colts won the “suck for Luck” sweepstakes to draft Luck in 2012. However, with his should injuries the Colts could find themselves looking for a new quarterback by 2019.
For now, they need to build their roster with elite players and Saquon Barkley is the only player more dominant at his position than Bradley Chubb in this entire draft. Chubb is a sure-fire pro bowl caliber defensive end that will remind Colts fans of Dwight Freeney. Freeney had seven double-digit sack seasons in blue and white before moving on in his career. Chubb is that type of player and the best player available in the third slot of the draft.
The Colts could use help on the offensive line and at inside linebacker, but the best player available will be Chubb and that’s who they’ll go with in 2018. Quenton Nelson from Notre Dame could be the pick here as well but it would be hard to pass on the elite pass rusher that Chubb is in a pass-happy NFL era.
