1. Who will replace Luke Falk at quarterback?

The biggest storyline of the 2018 spring football slate in Pullman is who will replace Luke Falk as the Cougs’ starting quarterback. Falk left Pullman with just about every passing record imaginable. His four years at Washington State saw some ups and downs but Falk never wavered. Falk heads to the NFL with his 14,000 plus passing yards and 119 touchdowns.

Unfortunately, the Cougar family and our world lost Tyler Hilinski too soon. Hilinski would have been the clear favorite to start for the Cougars in 2018.

Looking ahead, John Bledsoe has to be the favorite to win the job. Bledsoe is the son of former Wazzou and NFL great Drew Bledsoe. He has NFL size at 6-foot-3 and 209 pounds, and the pedigree gifted to him from his father.

Bledsoe lit up high school offenses for over 6,000 yards and 89 touchdowns winning the 5A state championship in Oregon. After redshirting behind Falk and Hilinski, Bledsoe looks to take over the starting role in 2018.

Bledsoe will be forced to compete against JUCO transfer Anthony Gordon and freshman Cammon Cooper. Bledsoe has a head start at the playbook over Cooper but Gordon has college experience and Cooper is an early enrollee so he won’t be as far behind as other freshmen normally would.

Prediction: John Bledsoe
