UCLA football heads into spring of 2018 with a new head coach. What storylines should Bruins fans be following this spring?

When Chip Kelly left Eugene, Ore., he had the Ducks ranked fourth overall in the S&P+ rankings from Bill C. Kelly took off for the Philadelphia Eagles of the NFL and left Oregon top heavy in talent but the talent level was slipping. That talent well might have gone dry whether Kelly left for the NFL or not.

After NCAA recruiting violations dried up his Texas recruiting connection, Kelly wasn’t bringing in the speedy recruits from the Houston area he was used to.

Kelly is back from the NFL and has become the head football coach of the UCLA Bruins. His college head coaching record is 46-7 including 2-2 in bowl games. Kelly failed to bring the Ducks a national title but he kept the Mike Bellotti train rolling in Autzen Stadium. Kelly arrives at UCLA in 2018 with the Bruins coming off a 6-7 season that saw the firing of Jim Mora. Kelly loses star quarterback Josh Rosen to the NFL, but UCLA isn’t devoid of ability.

The Bruins have a good quarterback on campus, and another good one in their 2018 class. Kelly also put together the 18th-ranked recruiting class in short work. This has to have Kelly excited about the future in Los Angeles.

Here are the five storylines to watch at UCLA this spring.
