Nebraska football is now under the direction of Scott Frost and with a new coach comes change. Here are five storylines for Huskers fans heading into 2018.

Scott Frost has returned home to Lincoln, Nebraska where he quarterbacked the Cornhuskers to a national title in 1997. Frost, the former head coach of the Central Florida Knights, was one of the hottest young coaches on the market this past off-season. After guiding UCF to a 13-0 record including a Peach bowl victory over Auburn he could choose his destination. Rumors has it legendary Husker coach Tom Osborne told Coach Frost that it was time to come home.

Home is Nebraska. The Cornhuskers are in disarray after a 4-8 2017 season. Nebraska was ranked 103rd in S&P+ and 60th in his pre-season rankings for 2018. Frost has his staff left sunny Orlando for Lincoln and will have a lot of work in front of them to right the ship and return the Huskers to blackshirt glory.

The Huskers will have to find a starting quarterback. However, one benefit is the 3-4 defense was already installed with Bob Diaco when he arrived in Lincoln in the spring of 2017. Instead of a total roster and system overhaul, just the terminology will be changing under Erik Chinander the Huskers’ new defensive coordinator. Expect a new focus on playing fast, having fun and attacking quarterbacks.

Here are the five spring storylines Huskers fans must follow in 2018.
