4. Which freshmen step up?

There are a handful of incoming freshman who have gone the early enrollee route and that includes guys like Smoke Monday and Joey Gatewood who have already impressed.

In fact, Monday, a four-star athlete who is likely to play safety, has already been taking reps with the first-team defense, which bodes well for the Tigers’ ability to reload back there.

Gatewood, a four-star dual-threat quarterback, has emerged as a potential backup to Jarrett Stidham. While he may be better suited taking a redshirt this season as to maintain an extra year of eligibility, he may be close to burning that and earning some playing time.

Other interesting freshmen to watch are Asa Martin, a four-star running back, four-star safety Jamien Sherwood and four-star cornerback Christian Tutt.

Each of these incoming freshmen have a chance to crack the starting lineup, for the most part, or earn valuable reps in 2018. But which guys step up this spring and separate themselves from the pack?
