Ole Miss football returns to the gridiron for their Spring game on Saturday, April 7. Here’s how to watch Rebels in the 2018 Grove Bowl.

More: Five biggest questions facing Ole Miss this spring

The Ole Miss program is still in a state of flux after the sudden departure of Hugh Freeze last season. The fanbase is looking for new memories and reasons to have hope. They should get both when they see their team take the field for the first time since last fall.

The annual Grove Bowl caps off the Rebels’ spring practices in front of the Ole Miss faithful. It’s also the first game that Matt Luke will coach as the head coach after having his interim coaching tag removed following the 2017 season.

Here’s how to watch the 2018 Grove Bowl:

Date: Saturday, April 7
Time: 2:00 p.m. ET
Location: Oxford, Mississippi
Venue: Vaught-Hemingway Stadium
TV: ESPNU
Broadcast crew: Mike Couzens, Andre Ware and Peter Burns.
Live Stream: WatchESPN

Format

Every spring game has its own format and the Grove Bowl is no exception. The defense (wearing blue) will start with a 27-0 lead while the offense tries to rally past them. In addition to defensive touchdowns, the defense can also score by returning turnovers into scoring range.

Players to watch

All eyes will be on quarterback Jordan Ta’amu who has the starting job all to himself after the departure of Shea Patterson. Patterson missed the better part of last season with injuries, opening the door for Ta’amu who more than exceeded expectations. How will he fare with a bit more experience under his belt?

His main target, A.J. Brown headlines an impressive receiving corps that should put on a show on Saturday. The Rebels are going to score plenty of points this season, and the fireworks should start in the spring.
