If you’re not excited about the prospect of Cam Akers becoming a serious Heisman contender within the next year or two, you may have to turn in your Seminole fan card. The sophomore running back was impressive as a true freshman, rushing for 1,025 yards and seven touchdowns on 5.3 per touch.

Although Jacques Patrick is also returning after racking up 748 yards and seven scores as a junior, Akers has to be excited about the possibility of recording 200-plus carries and breaking 1,000 yards for the second straight season to start his college career.
