Ohio State football is entering the 2018 spring game with some questions to answer. What’re the five biggest questions facing the Buckeyes?

Has there been a more dominant Big Ten team over the past couple of decades than Ohio State? Absolutely not. The Buckeyes have been the class of the conference with contenders such as Michigan State, Penn State, Wisconsin and Michigan trying to play catch-up.

One of the main reasons for the recent dominance has been the top-notch recruiting which has been only getting better under Urban Meyer.

The Buckeyes enter their 2018 spring game with some question marks, but for the most part, the upcoming season is expected to be a major success.

What are the five biggest questions facing Ohio State this spring?

5. Will any incoming freshmen make an impact?

It’s tough for incoming freshmen to make an impact for the Buckeyes in year one since the roster is fully-loaded with former blue-chippers and All-Americans out of high school. However, it’s not impossible to crack the rotation for a freshman under Urban Meyer.

The Buckeyes have yet another top-tier recruiting class coming in, ranked No. 2 in the country, according to 247Sports. Out of the 26-player class, eight are enrolled early and each one has a good chance to contend for early snaps.

Five-star safety Tyreke Johnson could be a contender in the defensive backfield with Damon Webb leaving, four-star center Matthew Jones could be a nice fill-in for the departing Billy Price, four-star tackle Max Wray could help replace Jamarco Jones, four-star linebacker Dallas Gant could fill a need at that position and four-star cornerback Sevyn Banks could be another reloading piece.

Just because these guys may not start right away doesn’t mean they won’t have an instant impact this spring and heading into fall ball.
