Texas A&M Football: 3 Aggies who’ll make a huge impact in spring game
The eyes of the college football turn to the SEC on April 14, with a huge slates of spring games including Texas A&M football. Here are three guys to watch.
Texas A&M football takes part in their annual spring game at Kyle Field on April 14. It’ll be one of the most watched spring games in the SEC this year, especially due to a well-known first-year head coach in College Station. Jimbo Fisher has a lot to watch in this spring game, including one of the most talked about quarterback competitions in the nation this off-season.
The area that the Aggies need to show the most improvement in the spring game is in the ground game. Texas A&M has a lot of talent in the backfield entering 2018, and that’ll be the bulk of the work on the offensive side of the ball early in the year.
Rushers like Trayveon Williams, Kendall Bussey, and Jacob Kibodi, have the potential to combine for more than 2,000 yards on the ground in 2018. Williams was expected to step up in a big way last season, after a huge freshman campaign in 2016, but largely disappointed with his final stat line.
With so much turnover in the receiving corps, it could take some time to develop some of the younger guys to get in a comfortable rhythm in the passing game. Both quarterbacks battling for the starting role under Fisher this spring are young too.
All eyes for the Aggies will first fall on the pair of rising sophomore quarterbacks in that aforementioned off-season competition, Kellen Mond and Nick Starkel. One of those names likely has the most determination in the final outcome for Texas A&M in 2018.
Here’s a look at three players who will have the biggest impact for the Texas A&M Aggies in their annual Spring Football Game on April 14.
